Getting started

From invite to first payment in five steps.

Before you begin

Merchants on JoPay are always onboarded by a partner. You cannot create a merchant account on your own. Your partner will send you an invite link to get started.

If you do not have an invite link, contact your partner or platform provider. Invite links expire (15 minutes, 1 hour, or 24 hours depending on the partner's configuration), so use yours promptly.

Setup steps

Receive your invite

Your partner sends you a unique invite link. Open it in a browser. The invite page shows the partner name and lets you begin onboarding.

Invite links are single-use and time-limited. If your invite has expired, ask your partner to generate a new one.

Connect your wallet

You have two options for connecting a wallet:

  • Embedded wallet (Sequence WaaS) — Sign in with email or social login. JoPay creates a non-custodial embedded wallet for you automatically. This is the easiest option and enables advanced features like auto-forward and recurring billing.
  • External wallet (MetaMask, etc.) — Connect an existing wallet you already control. You manage your own keys and gas fees.
The embedded wallet (Sequence WaaS) is recommended for most merchants. It requires no crypto knowledge, handles gas fees automatically, and unlocks all platform features including auto-forward and recurring billing.

Complete onboarding

Fill in your merchant profile:

  • Display name — Your business name shown to customers on payment pages.
  • Business type — Your business category.
  • Country — Where your business operates.

Your partner may pre-configure some of these fields. Once submitted, your merchant account is active.

Create your first payment

From the dashboard, tap New Payment. Enter:

  • An amount in your display currency (e.g. $10.00 USD).
  • An optional description (e.g. "Coffee order").

JoPay converts the amount to USDC using the current FX rate and generates a payment link and QR code.

Share the payment link or QR code

Share the payment link with your customer via messaging, email, or by showing the QR code on screen. When the customer pays, JoPay verifies the on-chain transfer and marks the payment as verified in your dashboard.
